AASTMT Signs Strategic Cooperation Protocol with the Arab Union for Media to Advance Digital Content Development

As part of its longstanding commitment to supporting joint Arab cooperation and strengthening the pivotal role of media in advancing sustainable development and regional integration, the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT), under the leadership of H.E. Prof. Dr. Ismail Abdel Ghaffar Ismail Farag, signed a strategic cooperation protocol with the Arab Union for Media, headed by Dr. Youssef Al-Omairi.

The signing ceremony was attended by Dr. Sally Gad, Secretary-General of the Arab Union for Media; Dr. Heba Nayef, Dean of the College of Language and Communication at AASTMT's Heliopolis Campus; Dr. Ahmed Ghazal, Director of the Academy's Center for Creative Marketing and Media; along with a distinguished gathering of AASTMT leaders, faculty members, media experts, journalists, and translation specialists.

The cooperation protocol aims to enhance the Arab media ecosystem and further develop its professional and institutional capabilities in accordance with the latest international standards by combining AASTMT's academic expertise with the Union's practical industry experience.

The partnership is expected to provide a wide range of benefits for students and young media professionals, including:

• Training and preparing qualified media professionals capable of keeping pace with the rapidly evolving fields of digital media and new media through the exceptional academic resources of AASTMT's specialized colleges, particularly the College of Language and Communication.
• Student sponsorship and professional membership, enabling students of the College of Language and Communication to obtain official membership in the Arab Union for Media while still pursuing their studies, providing them with early professional engagement and practical field experience.
• Collaboration with leading technology and media companies to design advanced training programs that support emerging digital content creators under the Union's official umbrella.
• Developing media professionals equipped with critical awareness and professional skills to address misinformation and misleading content circulating on social media while contributing to the protection of national and societal security across the Arab region.
• Supporting the vision of the Council of Arab Economic Unity and its specialized federations by promoting greater media cooperation and integration among Arab countries.
