Egyptian–UK Partnership to Promote Sustainable Industry and Support SDG 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation)

AASTMT, the Arab Organization for Industrialization (AOI), and the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan), UK, signed a cooperation agreement—supported by the European Union—to train AOI engineers and technicians in advanced industrial practices.

The partnership particularly supports SDG 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation) by promoting sustainable manufacturing processes that minimize water use, enhance recycling, and reduce industrial wastewater pollution.

It also contributes to other SDGs—SDG 4 (Quality Education) through capacity building, SDG 7 (Clean Energy) through renewable integration, SDG 9 (Innovation and Industry) through digital transformation, and SDG 17 (Partnerships) by fostering international cooperation.

A joint training program was launched to equip Egyptian graduates with skills in sustainable industry and clean technology, reinforcing Egypt’s Vision 2030 goals for water efficiency and environmental sustainability.
