AASTMT South Valley Engineering Students Explore Water Management and Irrigation Innovations in Toshka, Supporting SDG 6

AAST Engineering Students Visit Toshka Reclamation Project

As part of the ongoing cooperation between the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AAST), under the leadership of its President, Dr. Ismail Abdel Ghaffar Ismail Farag, and the Egyptian Armed Forces, a group of engineering students from the South Valley branch embarked on a field trip to the National Company for Land Reclamation and Cultivation in Toshka.

Upon their arrival, the students were warmly welcomed by the company's general manager. The general manager provided the faculty members and students with a comprehensive overview of the company's history and the significant achievements it has made. Subsequently, a guided tour was conducted of the various project sites, during which the deputy chairman of the board explained in detail the operation of the water pumping stations and the advanced irrigation systems employed in cultivating these lands.

The faculty members and students were deeply impressed by what they witnessed and were particularly excited about the numerous job opportunities available for graduates of the South Valley branch. This visit significantly boosted the students' morale and fostered a profound sense of pride in their country. The students have since shared their experiences with their peers, inspiring a wave of enthusiasm throughout the academy.
