Alexandria Water Welcomes Delegations Participating in the Field of Energy Efficiency Research

As part of the protocol signed between Alexandria Water Company and the Arab Academy for Science, Technology, and Maritime Transport in March 2022, and in light of the Arab Academy's participation in the cross-border research project for Mediterranean countries in Europe and North Africa to develop and support institutional capacity in the field of energy efficiency research and water supply while applying Sustainable Development Goals, under the title:

Med SEACAP integration through uniform adapted assessment and financing methods mainly targeting buildings in education and health sectors for sustainable development goals in a smart society.

The Technical Secondary School, affiliated with Alexandria Water Company, was selected to conduct energy review studies by the project's officials at the Academy. This was done in collaboration with the energy team led by Engineer Amr Khamees, the General Manager of Energy Conservation at Alexandria Water Company, and including engineers who are energy directors within the company, as well as members of the school's teaching staff and a significant number of students. This initiative aims to raise awareness among students and promote an energy conservation culture in preparation for the widespread implementation of this experience in other educational and administrative facilities.

Engineer Ahmed Jaber, the Chairman of the Board of Directors and Managing Director of Alexandria Water Company, delivered an inaugural lecture at the Academy's headquarters about the company's efforts in operating and maintaining water stations and its achievements in energy efficiency.

A delegation of European and Arab partners, along with the Academy's team and the Dean of Research and Innovation at the Academy, visited the Mansheya (2) water station. It is the first subsidiary company station to obtain the ISO 50001 energy certificate. This visit was attended by company executives, sector heads, general managers, and department directors.

Engineer Samar Badr, Director of the Renewable Energy Department, presented the company's notable achievements in the field of energy efficiency and showcased some of the renewable energy projects undertaken by the company.

All attendees, including the European delegation and participating delegations, praised the company's efforts in the areas of energy conservation and the operation and maintenance of water stations."
