Promote inclusive and sustainable economic growth, employment and decent work for all
The UN explains: Roughly half the world’s population still lives on the equivalent of about US$2 a day. And in too many places, having a job doesn’t guarantee the ability to escape from poverty. This slow and uneven progress requires us to rethink and retool our economic and social policies aimed at eradicating poverty.
The UN has defined 12 Targets and 17 Indicators for SDG 8. Targets specify the goals and Indicators represent the metrics by which the world aims to track whether these Targets are achieved. Below we quote the original text of all Targets and show the data on the agreed Indicators.
Employment Practices at the AASTMT The Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport ensures that all its employees are exposed to a decent workplace. For instance, the AASTMT developed policies against discrimination, harassment, unequal payment. Also, the AASTMT makes sure that the outsourced employees are paid fairly by the subcontractors. Practical Training, Internships at the AASTMT: In line with the AASTMT strategic objectives which focuses on preparing a graduate who is capable to compete at the national and international level, the AASTMT ensured that the students have practical training and internships in the best companies both locally and internationally. As a requirement for graduation, all students must have an internship in their field of specialization during the summer vacation. For that target the AASTMT provides a numerous number of internships for its students and graduates in collaboration with the best companies both nationally and internationally.
