Supporting information awareness and informed decision-making

Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Abeer Refky, Dean of the College of Language and Media at the main campus in Alexandria, and Dr. Osama El-Gohary, Assistant to the Prime Minister and Head of the Information and Decision Support Center (IDSC), Dr. Yasser Darwish, Director of the Public Relations and Protocol Department at the center, received a delegation of Media Department students at the center’s headquarters in the New Administrative Capital.Darwish welcomed the delegation, emphasizing the importance of cooperation between state institutions and academic bodies in supporting information awareness and informed decision-making.During the visit, Dr. Bassant Mohamed Attia, Head of the Media Department, received the center’s shield on behalf of Prof. Dr. Abeer Refky, Dean of the College, in appreciation of the college’s role in strengthening media education and institutional communication.The visit took place as part of the course “Social Media Platforms and Fake News,” supervised by Mr. Ahmed Esmat, Media and Digital Transformation Technology Consultant, and Ms. Jihad Mansour, Teaching Assistant in the Media Department. The course aims to equip students with skills in information verification and understanding content management mechanisms in the digital environment.The day included a comprehensive program overseen by the center’s officials, beginning with an introductory presentation on the center’s activities and key projects, including the Media Observatory, digital monitoring platforms, and public policy analysis. Dr. Riham Sadiq, Deputy Head of the Central Administration for the Office of the Head of the Center, delivered a detailed presentation on the center’s functions and operations, followed by a presentation on the Public Policy Forum by Mr. Mohamed Shawky, representative of the Public Policy Forum team.The visit concluded with a discussion of future cooperation between the college and the center, including plans to organize joint training programs and workshops aimed at preparing students in the fields of fake news verification, digital data analysis, and the production of reliable media content.تحت رعاية الأستاذة الدكتورة عبير رفقي، عميدة كلية اللغة والإعلام بالمقر الرئيسي بالإسكندرية، وبرعاية الدكتور أسامة الجوهري، مساعد رئيس مجلس الوزراء ورئيس مركز المعلومات ودعم اتخاذ القرار، استقبل الدكتور ياسر درويش، مدير قسم العلاقات العامة والبروتوكول بالمركز، وفدًا من طلاب قسم الإعلام بالكلية، وذلك بمقر المركز بالعاصمة الإدارية الجديدة.رحّب درويش بالوفد، مؤكدًا أهمية التعاون بين مؤسسات الدولة والجهات الأكاديمية في دعم الوعي المعلوماتي وصناعة القرار المستنير.وخلال الزيارة، تسلّمت الدكتورة بسنت محمد عطية، رئيس قسم الإعلام، درع المركز نيابةً عن الأستاذة الدكتورة عبير رفقي، عميدة الكلية، تقديرًا لدور الكلية في تعزيز التعليم الإعلامي والتواصل المؤسسي.وجاءت الزيارة في إطار مادة “مواقع التواصل الاجتماعي والأخبار الزائفة”، تحت إشراف الأستاذ أحمد عصمت، المستشار التكنولوجي للإعلام والتحول الرقمي، والأستاذة جهاد منصور، مساعد التدريس بقسم الإعلام، وتهدف المادة إلى إكساب الطلاب مهارات التحقق من المعلومات وفهم آليات إدارة المحتوى في البيئة الرقمية.تضمّن اليوم برنامجًا متكاملًا بإشراف مسؤولي المركز، بدأ بعرض تعريفي حول أنشطة المركز وأبرز مشروعاته، منها المرصد الإعلامي ومنصات الرصد الإلكتروني وتحليل السياسات العامة. وقدّمت الدكتورة ريهام صادق، نائب رئيس الإدارة المركزية لشؤون مكتب رئيس المركز، عرضًا مفصلًا لأنشطة المركز وآليات عمله، تلاها عرض حول منتدى السياسات العامة قدّمه الأستاذ محمد شوقي، مُمثل فريق منتدي السياسات العامة .واختُتمت الزيارة بمناقشة أوجه التعاون المستقبلية بين الكلية والمركز، والتي تتضمن تنظيم برامج تدريبية وورش عمل مشتركة تهدف إلى تأهيل الطلاب في مجالات التحقق من الأخبار الزائفة، وتحليل البيانات الرقمية، وصناعة المحتوى الإعلامي الموثوق.
