President of the Arab Academy Receives High-Level Delegation from the General Union of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, and Agriculture of Libya to Discuss Means of Joint Cooperation

His Excellency Prof. Ismail Abdel Ghaffar Ismail Farag, President of the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport, received on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, His Excellency Eng. Mohamed Al-Raeid, President of the General Union of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, and Agriculture of Libya, along with the accompanying delegation, at the Academy’s headquarters in Abu Qir.

This meeting comes within the framework of strengthening joint Arab cooperation and expanding partnership opportunities between both sides in the fields of education, training, maritime transport, and professional qualification, in addition to exploring the latest technologies and educational programs offered by the Academy.

The Union’s delegation included a number of officials, among them Dr. Samir Al-Tarmal, Director General of the Union; Captain Riyad Shady, Advisor to the Union for Training and Foreign Trade Affairs; Mr. Salah Al-Jahani, Advisor to the Union for External Relations; and Mr. Marwan Abu Hajar, Advisor to the Board of Directors for Investment Affairs at Qanwan Consulting Company. The meeting was also attended by Professor Dr. Alaa Mahmoud Morsi, Dean of the Port Training Institute at the Academy, and Dr. Essam Mostafa, Director of Business Development at the Port Training Institute.

During the meeting, Prof. Ismail Abdel Ghaffar Ismail Farag emphasized the deep-rooted Egyptian-Libyan relations, stressing the importance of enhancing joint cooperation in various vital sectors, particularly in the fields of capacity building and human resource development.

The delegation also witnessed the signing of a strategic cooperation protocol between the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport and the Federation of Egyptian Chambers of Commerce. The protocol was signed on behalf of the Academy by Prof. Ismail Abdel Ghaffar Ismail Farag, President of the Academy, while it was signed on behalf of the Chamber of Commerce by Mr. Ahmed El Wakil, President of the Federation of Egyptian Chambers of Commerce, President of the Federation of African Chambers, and Chairman of the Alexandria Chamber of Commerce.

The delegation also conducted a field visit to several educational and training facilities within the Academy, including the Planetarium and the Integrated Simulation Complex, where they were introduced to the latest educational programs and the advanced infrastructure available at the Academy.

At the conclusion of the visit, the delegation praised the Academy’s advanced capabilities, affirming that it represents a leading model in providing modern education and training in accordance with the latest international standards.
