Within the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT) consolidations for the bonds of cooperation which are always looking forward to new future prospects, as AASTMT saved no effort in supporting the educational process, and discussing the methods that promote discussion and exchange of experiences in areas of mutual interest, H.E Prof. Dr. Ismail Abdel Ghaffar Ismail Farag - AASTMT President, and his accompanying delegation, met several officials from the Port Authority of Western Sicily at the Port of Palermo - Italy. In keeping with AASTMT approach to building alliances and integrating with operational institutions and the international maritime sector, the visit's desired to develop a plan for connecting maritime education with contemporary port management systems in order to foster skilled workers who can keep up with the changes in the maritime transport and port industries.
During the visit, the program featured a visit of the Port of Palermo to discover the modernization and management techniques, investigate ways to connect maritime education with real-world operational applications, and share knowledge and practical training sessions. In order to boost the Port of Palermo's position as a hub for the Mediterranean's maritime transport and services system, the Italian Authority's vision for strategic projects, development plans, innovation initiatives, and chances for international cooperation was also examined.
