Within the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT) consolidations for the bonds of cooperation which are always looking forward to new future prospects, as AASTMT saved no effort in supporting the educational process, H.E. Prof. Dr. Ismail Abdel Ghaffar Ismail Farag - AASTMT President, welcomed an elite delegation from the Libyan Ministry of Technical and Vocational Education. The meeting was held on Monday 8- 6- 2026, at AASTMT Smart Village Campus, in the presence of AASTMT officials. The Libyan delegation included H.E. Dr. Farag Khalil Salem - Minister of Technical and Vocational Education of the Libyan Government, H.E. Prof. Dr. Nasser Suleiman Al-Aqouri - President of the National Academy for Postgraduate Studies in Technical Education, Prof. Dr. Ali Salem Al-Sahouli - Academic Advisor to the Minister, Mr. Jibril Mohammed Al-Madani - Advisor and Director of the Minister's Office, and Mr. Mohammed Omar Al-Zawi - Ministry's General Financial Controller.
During the visit, the two parties discussed ways to enhance cooperation in areas of mutual interest. Furthermore, AASTMT most significant recent developments and achievements were also presented, with a focus on international accrediting and strategic alliances with top universities and international organizations. As memorandum of understanding (MOU) for training and scientific research was signed, a step aimed at bridging the gap between technical education and labor market demands, thus strengthening AASTMT position as a regional center for training and scientific research. Then, the delegation had a tour at AASTMT AbuKir Campus, in the presence of an elite delegation of AASTMT officials. They visited AASTMT Planetarium, and Integrated Simulator Complex (ISC), Industry Service Complex, Maritime Safety Institute (MSI), and College of Engineering and Technology. The Libyan Ministry of Technical and Vocational Education delegation praised AASTMT that is unique in terms of the technology used and the various facilities provided to support the educational process, which meet international standards.
