The Arab Academy for Science, Technology, and Maritime Transport (AASTMT) hosted the 3rd IEEE International Conference on Machine Intelligence and Smart Innovation (ICMISI 2026) that was held under the patronage of H.E. Mr. Ahmed Aboul Gheit - Secretary General of the League of Arab States, during the period from 9 - 11 May 2026, at AASTMT AbuKir Campus – Alexandria – Egypt. AASTMT College of Engineering and Technology in cooperation with the International Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) organized the conference with the theme “Building Intelligence for Impact: AI in Shaping a Smarter and Sustainable Future”.
The opening ceremony was held in the presence of H.E. Prof. Dr. Ismail Abdel Ghaffar Ismail Farag - AASTMT President, H.E. Prof. Dr. Yousry El Gamal - Former Minister of Education and Advisor to AASTMT President, H.E. Prof. Dr. Ahmed Madin - Head of the Electronics and Computer Engineering Program and Chairman of IEEE - Egypt Section, and an elite group of AASTMT officials.
The conference provided a unique interactive platform for researchers, academics, and experts from both academia and industry to exchange the latest developments and innovations in artificial intelligence, machine learning, and their diverse applications. Alongside the conference, there was an International Exhibition of Smart Innovations for Sustainability, as well as a number of presentations and workshops. It's worth to mention that the conference serves as an international and regional forum for exchanging knowledge and experiences and sharing visions and results in the theory, methodology and applications of artificial intelligence systems. These applications include the integration of machine intelligence with biomedical applications, smart innovations, cybersecurity applications, the Fourth Industrial Revolution, the Internet of Things, clean energy, research supporting sustainable development, and advanced quantum computing systems. Over 15 high-level international speakers participated in the conference, along with a distinguished group of university presidents, ambassadors, representatives of prestigious technology and scientific institutions, and numerous researchers, consultants, and specialists from the industry, energy, and IT sectors sectors in Europe, Asia, North America, and the Middle East.
