"Emirates - Egypt - Saudi Arabia - Morocco - Qatar" members of IMO 2026-2027 Council

H.E. Prof. Dr. Ismail Abdel Ghaffar Ismail Farag - President of the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT) and AASTMT Family members have the pleasure and honor of congratulating the Arab countries that have won seats on the 2026 - 2027 elected Council of the International Maritime Organization (IMO), as the elections was held on Friday 28- 11- 2025, in London. The IMO Assembly has elected the following Member States to serve on the IMO Council, as follows:

  • Category B: United Arab Emirates.
  • Category C: Arab Republic of Egypt, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Kingdom of Morocco, and State of Qatar.

This achievement highlights the significant role of the Arab nations in promoting the growth of the maritime industry, and improving the maritime security and safety worldwide, as well as their advanced position in the maritime transport and logistics sector.
