AASTMT President - Rowan University Delegation “Meeting”

As part of the activation of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT) and Rowan University in the United States of America, as keeping with AASTMT dedication to always looks forward to new horizons, H.E. Prof. Dr. Ismail Abdel Ghaffar Ismail Farag - AASTMT President welcomed H.E. Dr. Maurice Kalini - Vice President of Rowan University for International Relations, and the accompanying delegation on Monday 3- 11- 2025, at AASTMT El Alamein campus. The meeting was held in the presence of H.E. Prof. Dr. Alaa El-Ghoneimy - Professor of paediatric surgery and urology, President of the European Society of Paediatric Urology, and Head of the paediatric urology department at the Children's University Hospital in Paris, as well as, AASTMT Officials.

During the visit, During the visit, methods for implementing a memorandum of understanding between the two parties into action as well as possibilities for collaboration in areas of mutual interest were discussed. This will start with the introduction of an artificial intelligence (AI) distant learning program during the winter semester. Through a training curriculum delivered by worldwide specialists, the program aims to provide AASTMT students and others interested in modern technology the chance to learn about the latest developments in AI and its practical applications. The program's significance lies in enhancing students' proficiency with contemporary AI technology, offering hands-on learning opportunities, and promoting communication with academic specialists through specialized lectures on AI applications. Along with developing small projects on topics like machine learning, advanced modelling, AI ethics, and virtual reality applications, students will also gain knowledge about the latest developments such virtual reality integration. Additionally, an affiliation agreement was signed for the instructional programs of medical students at Rowan University, enhancing cross-disciplinary collaboration. As, AASTMT recognizes AI to build competent human capital and reaffirms its commitment to collaborating with the best colleges and universities. Then the delegation had a tour at AASTMT and visited AASTMT College of Medicine, Teaching hospital, College of Artificial Intelligence, and College of Engineering and Technology. The delegation praised AASTMT capabilities and current position at the local and international levels.

It's worth mentioning that Rowan University is founded in 1923, and has grown from a teacher preparation college to a top 100 public research institution. It offers bachelors to doctorate degrees and professional certificates to 22,000 students, through its main campus in Glassboro, New Jersey, its medical school campuses in Camden, Stratford, and Sewell, along with a focusing on practical research in engineering, medicine, science, and business.
