"AASTMT President - Minister of Local Development and Acting Minister of Environment" Meeting

H.E. Prof. Dr. Ismail Abdel Ghaffar Ismail Farag – President of the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT), met H.E. Dr. Manal Awad - Minister of Local Development and Acting Minister of Environment. They discussed ways to enhance cooperation between the Ministry and AASTMT in areas of common interest, especially local development. Future plans in several environmental areas were also reviewed, with the goal of improving the integration of human capacity building, sustainable development, and scientific research.

During the meeting, the discussion focused on AASTMT role in promoting sustainable development through training initiatives and scientific research. Additionally, they addressed the methods to expand cooperation with academic and scientific institutions, primarily AASTMT, to benefit from its expertise. Waste management, renewable energy, and climate change measures that are in line with Egypt's Vision 2030 are some of these endeavors, along with the commitment to implementing model projects and capacity-building programs aimed at enhancing environmental awareness among youth and communities.
