AASTMT Participation in the 34th Arab Summit Associated Meetings

In response to the gracious invitation of H.E. Mr. Ahmed Aboul Gheit - Secretary-General of the League of Arab States (LAS), to H.E. Prof. Dr. Ismail Abdel Ghaffar Ismail Farag - President of the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT), to participate in the 34th Arab Summit of the League of Arab States, the 5th  Economic and Social Development Summit, and the associated preparatory meetings, Dr. Moustafa Rashid - Assistant to AASTMT President and AASTMT authorized focal point for the LAS Economic and Social Council, attended the Arab Summit preparations on behalf of AASTMT president. The meetings eere held during the period from 12 - 17 May, 2025 in Baghdad - Republic of Iraq. AASTMT paricipation comes within H.E. AASTMT President instructions to assist the united Arab action and strengthen AASTMT position as a premier Arab and worldwide center of knowledge with a focus on education, training, research, and consultation. 

The meetings covered AASTMT role in preparing the scientific study and reference document for the Arab Artificial Intelligence Initiative: Towards Technological Leadership and Sustainable Development, which is overseen by H.E. Secretary-General of LAS, as well as the initiative of H.E. President of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, on the blue economy as a solution to the Arab world's food and energy issues. These efforts were praised at the meeting, as AASTMT received praise and gratitude.
