AASTMT - Djibouti Ports Authority and Free Zones Authority (MOU)

Within the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT) consolidations for the bonds of cooperation which are always looking forward to new future prospects, H.E. Prof. Dr. Ismail Abdel Ghafar Ismail - AASTMT President met H.E. Mr. Abubakar Omar Hadi – Chairman of Djibouti Ports Authority and Free Zones Authority (DPFZA) on Tuesday 5- 11- 2024.

During the visit, H.E. AASTMT President and H.E. DPFZA Chairman signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between AASTMT and DPFZA. The purpose of the MOU is to strengthen and activate the means of cooperation between the two parties' academic, training and advisory fields, particularly in the area of maritime transport and logistics, in a way that benefits both parties. The agreement also stipulated the establishment of a regional institute for maritime education and training in the Republic of Djibouti in partnership between AASTMT and DPFZA, in order to train and qualify people in the maritime sector and develop their skills.
