AASTMT President Participation in the Arab Banking Conference 2024

H.E. Prof. Dr. Ismail Abdel Ghafar Ismail Farag - President of the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT) participated in the Arab Banking Conference 2024 that was held under the patronage and in the presence of H.E. Sheikh Bandar Bin Mohammed Bin Saoud Al-Thani - Governor of the Qatar Central Bank. As His Excellency participated in the Conference activities that were held on 10 - 11 September 2024, in Doha - Qatar, under the theme "Sustainable Development Requirements in the Arab World & the Role of Banks", with high-level participation from senior officials of the economic, financial and banking sectors in the Arab world and at the global level. The Arab Banking Conference 2024 is an important event for exchanging ideas and experiences and will focus on the role of banks in supporting sustainable development across the Arab world.

The (48) session of the Union of Arab Banks' Ordinary General Assembly was held concurrently with the conference. During the session, H.E. Prof. Dr AASTMT President, and H.E. Dr. Wissam Fattouh - Secretary General of the Union of Arab Banks signed a cooperation protocol between AASTMT and the Union of Arab Banks to pave the way for a future based on artificial intelligence, in the presence of H.E.  Mr. Mohamed Al-Atrebi - Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Union of Arab Banks, H.E. Eng. Ziad Khalaf Abdul Karim - Chairman of the Board of Directors of the International Development Bank for Investment and Finance of Iraq and Member of the Board of Directors of the Union of Arab Banks representing Iraq, and Prof. Dr. Ali Fahmy - Dean of AASTMT College of Artificial Intelligence.
