The League of Arab States’ workshop discussing preparing an analytical study on the real status of the Arab seaports sector

Based on the decision of the Council of Arab Ministers of Transport in its session No. (35) of 2022, the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT) organized the League of Arab States workshop concerned with discussing the mechanism of preparing a study analyzing the real status of the Arab seaports sector, on Sunday 30- 4- 2023, at AASTMT Smart Village Campus (by attending on campus - via video conference).
It is worth mentioning that during the workshop the experiences of various Arab ports in the maritime transport and ports industry were presented, in addition to the ways of facing international challenges and seizing future opportunities. These ideas and suggestions were discussed during the workshop sessions to achieve integration and development in this field.
The League of Arab States’ workshop was held in the presence of H.E. Dr. Ali Hamie - Lebanese Minister of Public Works and Transport, H.E. Prof. Dr. Ismail Abdel Ghafar Ismail Farag - AASTMT President, H.E. Rear Admiral/ Reda Ismail - Head of the Egyptian Maritime Transport Sector, H.E. Prof. Dr. Bahgat Abu Al-Nasr - Manager of Transport and Tourism Department of the League of Arab States, H.E. Dr. Saif Al Mazrouei - CEO of Abu Dhabi Ports Cluster, H.E. Dr. Saleh bin Fetais Al-Marri - Ministry of Transport’s Assistant Undersecretary of Maritime Transport Affairs in Qatar, H.E. Dr. Ahmed Tamer - Director of Port of Tripoli (OEPT) in Lebanon, Dr. Mostafa Rashid - AASTMT President Assistant, and Dr. Khaled EL-Sakty - Dean of AASTMT College of International Transport and Logistics (CITL) in Cairo, in addition to the participation of a group of experts and officials of the Arab maritime transport sector and ports.
