CLC Smart Village Marks World Press Freedom Day with a Workshop on “AI & Press Freedom: Navigating Truth in the Digital Age”

As part of its community service activities, and under the pillar of media literacy and emerging technologies, the College of Language and Communication – Smart Village Campus organized a workshop celebrating World Press Freedom Day titled:
“AI & Press Freedom: Navigating Truth in the Digital Age.”
The session was delivered by Mr. Mohammed El Hawary, Executive Director of Al-Fanar Media.

The workshop targeted students and members of the wider media community, aiming to raise awareness about the impact of technology on freedom of expression and to encourage ethical and responsible use of AI in media practices.
This initiative reflects the college’s commitment to fostering informed discussions on the intersection of technology and journalism, while promoting transparency, accountability, and digital ethics in contemporary media landscapes.
