The Cultural and Social Activities Department in Abu Qir organized a student trip to Siwa Oasis that combined relaxation, safari, and exploration of natural and historical landmarks to rejuvenate the students — from January 19 to January 23, 2026

As part of the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport's commitment to supporting meaningful student activities, and in accordance with the Deanship of Student Affairs' plan for the 2025/2026 academic year, the Cultural and Social Activities Department at the Abu Qir branch organized a student trip to Siwa Oasis during the mid-year break. Students from the colleges located at the Abu Qir campus of the Academy's main campus participated.

The trip aimed to break the daily routine of commuting and lectures, providing a genuine opportunity to rejuvenate their minds and bodies, thus boosting their enthusiasm and readiness for the new semester. The students enjoyed the enchanting natural beauty of Siwa Oasis, with its vast deserts, tranquil atmosphere, and unique opportunities for safari activities.

The trip's program included visits to several of the oasis's most prominent natural and historical landmarks, including the Salt Mountain, the ancient Shali Fortress, Cleopatra's Springs, the Siwa Nature Reserve, and the old markets. These sites combined to create a comprehensive cultural and tourist experience that blended enjoyment and knowledge. The program also included recreational and social activities and evening gatherings that fostered friendship and communication among the students.

The trip was organized under the supervision of the Cultural and Social Activities Department, with guidance from Professor Dr. Mohamed Mahmoud Abu El-Azm, Dean of Student Affairs, and under the supervision of Dr. Ahmed Khalifa, Assistant Dean of Student Affairs. It was held under the patronage of His Excellency Professor Dr. Ismail Abdel Ghaffar Ismail Farag, President of the Academy, within the framework of an institutional vision aimed at providing a comprehensive university environment that supports the educational, human, and recreational aspects of students' lives.

The trip reflected an outstanding level of organization and complete attention to student safety, while cameras captured many happy moments that will remain fond memories for the participants. The Deanship of Student Affairs affirms its commitment to continuing to organize such events, which contribute to shaping students' personalities, enhancing their positive energy, and preparing them to achieve the best academic performance throughout their studies.
