The Arab Academy for Science, Technology, and Maritime Transport, at its branch in New Alamein City, hosted the 8th edition of the international medical training program “Cleopatrain,” organized by the Academy’s Medical Students’ Scientific Association (AMSA-AAST), in collaboration with the International Federation of Medical Students’ Associations – Egypt (IFMSA-Egypt).
The training saw the participation of 220 medical students from Egyptian universities, along with students from over 20 countries around the world, including Canada, Spain, Iraq, Nigeria, and Jordan. This marked a strong return of the global event to Egypt after years of absence.
The program featured seven specialized workshops focused on enhancing the academic and professional skills of future medical professionals. Topics included disaster and war medicine, medical education, student and cultural exchange mechanisms, as well as public health and approaches to addressing gender-based violence.
The event went beyond academics, serving as a platform for cultural diversity, allowing students to exchange experiences and knowledge, and explore landmarks in New Alamein City. Academy students also organized a recreational trip to Siwa Oasis to introduce participants to the beauty of Egypt's tourist destinations.
The Arab Academy is the first Egyptian university to host this international training after Egypt’s years-long absence from organizing it—further affirming the Academy’s leadership and commitment to supporting young medical professionals on both the local and international levels.
