The Arab Academy Inaugurates the New Building of the College of International Transport and Logistics in Abu Qir
Al-Maliki, Hanafi, and Abdel Ghaffar commend Dr. Sara El-Gazzar for her efforts in advancing the college and achieving unprecedented accomplishments.

The Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport inaugurated the new building of the College of International Transport and Logistics at its main campus in Abu Qir on Tuesday, August 26, 2025.
This came on the sidelines of the 7th session of the College’s Advisory Council, attended by a group of prominent official and academic figures.
Among the attendees at the inauguration were:

* H.E. Ambassador Dr. Ali bin Ibrahim Al-Maliki, representing the Secretary-General of the League of Arab States
* Mr. Ahmed El-Wakeel, President of the General Federation of Egyptian Chambers of Commerce
* Professor Dr. Khaled Hanafi, Secretary-General of the Union of Arab Chambers and founder of the college
* Rear Admiral Mohamed Farouk Zaki, representing the Commander of the Naval Forces
* Professor Dr. Ismail Abdel Ghaffar, President of the Academy
* Mr. Mohamed Moselhi, President of the Arab Federation of Chambers of Maritime Navigation
* Professor Dr. Sara El-Gazzar, Dean of the College
**Strategic Vision and Achievements**
During the session, Dr. Sara El-Gazzar presented the college’s strategic vision and its role in supporting the transport and logistics sector in the region.
She highlighted the college’s academic and research achievements, as well as its future plans—especially after receiving FIBAA Gold accreditation from Germany and AACSB International accreditation.
The event also featured the signing of a cooperation agreement with the Alexandria Chamber of Commerce to establish a mediation center for the transport and logistics sector.

Ambassador Dr. Ali bin Ibrahim Al-Maliki described the college as a “leading academic and professional institution,” noting its role in bridging the gap between education and labor market needs.
He emphasized the Academy's foundation was strongly supported by the League of Arab States, and highlighted its diverse specializations including transport logistics, supply chains, international trade, and energy/petroleum logistics.
Governor Hisham Abu Al-Nasr stressed that the international transport and logistics sector is a cornerstone of Egypt’s economic future.
He referred to Assiut’s ambitious vision for this sector, especially the Integrated Logistics Investment Zone, as a model for public-private cooperation.
Ahmed El-Wakeel highlighted the importance of integrating knowledge and resources to develop the economy and generate jobs, noting that over 20 joint projects between the Chamber and the Academy have been completed in the past decade.
Dr. Khaled Hanafi emphasized the Academy’s role as a “producer of human capital,” tracing the college’s founding over 30 years ago as the first specialized educational path in Egypt outside the public sector.

Professor Dr. Ismail Abdel Ghaffar closed the event by affirming the Academy’s role as a “center of Arab expertise” in sustainability and maritime transport.
He praised Dr. Sara El-Gazzar’s efforts in bridging academia and industry, and noted that the Academy strives to be a platform for research and innovation—producing graduates who secure prestigious international job opportunities.
