Siemens Energy Visit
With gratitude, the scientific trip organized by the Department of Electrical and Control Engineering for the department's students to the Siemens Energy Center in Ain Sokhna was successfully completed under the supervision of:
- Prof. Dr. Samah El-Safty - Professor, Department of Electrical and Control Engineering
- Prof. Dr. Mostafa Abdel-Galil - Professor, Department of Electrical and Control Engineering
The trip took place on Monday and Tuesday, November 25-26, 2024.
The schedule included an overnight stay at a hotel in Ain Sokhna followed by a visit to the center. The Siemens Energy Center is one of Siemens' facilities specializing in manufacturing and developing equipment for energy and infrastructure sectors. It focuses particularly on the production of power plants and related technologies, such as gas turbines, steam turbines, as well as electrical protection, safety, and industrial automation technologies.
Additionally, the center features advanced capabilities such as smart grid systems, allowing students to connect theoretical knowledge with practical applications and gain insights into the latest advancements in the job market related to grid connectivity, protection, and control.
The Department of Electrical and Control Engineering extends its sincere gratitude and appreciation to Siemens and all the engineers involved for coordinating the trip and their efforts in explaining the scientific and practical aspects to the students. The department looks forward to further collaboration in the future, God willing.
Special thanks also go to the Dean of Student Affairs for coordinating and arranging the trip and accommodations for the students and faculty members, as well as to the Cultural Activities Department for supervising the students and ensuring their safety throughout the visit.
