As part of the Ta'ziz Partnership - Short-term Measures 2023 program, the Arab Academy for Science, Technology, and Maritime Transport (AASTMT) collaborated with Freie Universität Berlin to organize an intensive Workshop on Meteorology and Environmental Studies, held from November 18 to December 1, 2023, in Berlin. This workshop provided AASTMT students with advanced training in meteorology and environmental science, emphasizing the use of meteorological tools and techniques for understanding weather patterns and their effects on the environment.
The program included theoretical lectures and fieldwork, allowing AASTMT master’s students specializing in Environmental Changes for Environment and Climate to gain practical experience with climate monitoring equipment such as wind, temperature, and humidity measurement devices. This hands-on training enhanced students’ abilities to collect and analyze environmental data, equipping them with essential skills for careers in climate science and environmental studies.
This initiative aligns with AASTMT’s commitment to promoting climate literacy and equipping students with the expertise needed to contribute to global climate resilience and CO2 reduction efforts. The collaboration with Freie Universität Berlin not only fostered international academic exchange but also reinforced AASTMT’s role in advancing sustainability under SDG 13 by preparing a new generation of environmental professionals dedicated to tackling climate change.
