“AASTMT - Arab American University” Memorandum of Understanding

Within the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT) agreements with different World Universities and Institutions for AASTMT consolidation of the bonds of cooperation as well as its role in offering a distinctive performance of educational and training service as to keep pace with the continuous technological development, AASTMT signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Arab American University (AAUP).

H.E. Prof. Dr. Ismail Abdel Ghaffar Ismail Farag - AASTMT President and H.E. Prof. Dr. Baraa Asfour - Acting President of the Arab American University, signed the agreement on Sunday 3- 5- 2026, via video conference, in the presence of a group of AASTMT Officials.

The Memorandum of Understanding aims to enhance cooperation between the two institutions in academic, research, and institutional domains, throughout an initiative to boost the quality of education and promote the scientific research and innovation system. Along with joint research projects and the creation of research centers, the agreement also aims to create a long-term strategic partnership that includes cooperative educational initiatives via dual degree programs and student transfers. The agreement also includes academic exchange programs as well as organizing a number of workshops and training projects, as for further strengthen their commitment to regional and international cooperation in higher education and scientific research.

Notably, the Arab American University (AAUP), is the first private Palestinian university, founded in year 2000, in a collaboration with California State University (CSU) in Stanislaus and Utah State University (USU) in Logan. AAUP emphasizes demand-based academic programs, innovative learning, and quality education. The university actively participates in academic forums, adheres to international quality standards, and is dedicated to provide a supportive learning environment and extracurricular activities to prepare students for competitive economies
