As part of the fruitful cooperation between the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT), and the University of Genoa since 2019, AASTMT College of Engineering and Technology participated in the third edition of the “Freshmen PhD & Professionals Cruise School 2026” program, organized by the University of Genoa - Italy. The program was held during the period from 23 – 30 January 2026, under the theme “Artificial Intelligence for Technological Transformation”.
A delegation of AASTMT academic staff members, along with a select group of professors and students from the fields of construction and building engineering, and industrial engineering participated in the program activities that was held on the Costa Fortuna cruise ship and included visits to several European ports. AASTMT delegation presented a series of specialized scientific presentations on artificial intelligence applications in sustainable infrastructure, smart ports, renewable energy, and smart industrial systems. In addition to discussing a preliminary framework for establishing a dual master's program between the two institutions, participation in the program activities led to significant strategic achievements, including an agreement to sign a training agreement for AASTMT students participating in University of Genoa's summer school.
