AASTMT Participation in the 5th Edition of "Arab Sustainable Development Week"
H.E. Prof. Dr. Ismail Abdel Ghaffar Ismail Farag - President of the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT) and AASTMT delegation participated in the activities of the 5th Edition of "Arab Sustainable Development Week" that was held under the auspices of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, in the presence of H.E. Mr. Ahmed Aboul Gheit - Secretary General of the League of Arab States, H.E. Dr. Rania Al-Mashat - Minister of Planning, Economic Development and International Cooperation, H.E. Dr. Ashraf Sobhi - Minister of Youth and Sports, H.E. Ms. Stefan Gimbert - Regional Director of the World Bank for Egypt, Yemen, and Djibouti, H.E. Ms. Elena Panova - Resident Coordinator of the United Nations in the Arab Republic of Egypt, and H.E. Mr. Yousef Khalawi - Secretary General of AlBaraka Forum for Islamic Economy.
Under the theme "Sustainable Solutions for a Better Future - Resilience and Adaptability in an Evolving Arab World," the fifth edition of the Arab Sustainable Development Week started on Sunday 24- 11- 2024, and will continue for four days. In order to jointly create a stable and sustainable Arab future, this year's Arab Sustainable Development Week intends to be a transformative event that strengthens the unity of Arab nations and Arab identity while constructing a flexible, equitable, and prosperous future.
The workshops focus on the significance of identifying workable ideas that will accelerate the implementation process by enhancing successful collaborations that promote sustainable development in the Arab world and directly affect the standard of living for Arabs. In order to continue progress in the Arab world, the conference also aims to provide an interactive platform that promotes regional collaboration between nations and institutions as well as the sharing of experiences between practitioners and decision-makers. In addition to discussing the obstacles and challenges that the Arab and Islamic worlds face in attaining sustainable development, some of the best practices and successful models from several other nations will also be reviewed.
