Within the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT) keenness on looking forward to new future prospects, H.E. Prof. Dr. Ismail Abdel Ghaffar Ismail - AASTMT President and H.E. Eng. Sherif El Sherbiny - Egyptian Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, signed two cooperation protocols between AASTMT and the Egyptian Ministry of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities, which aim to cooperate in the field of consulting, training and studies.
It is worth mentioning that the first protocol pertains to technical consultations in New Alamein City in order to create a comprehensive plan for managing maritime resources while guaranteeing safety, protecting the environment, and optimizing financial gains. The second protocol focuses on training of AASTMT students and postgraduate administrative studies of the Ministry of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities staff, as well as consulting and collaborative research in areas of mutual interest.
AASTMT and the Egyptian Ministry of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities protocols were signed on the sidelines of the twelfth session of the World Urban Forum (WUF12), featuring 180 countries. The forum is being organized by the United Nations Human Settlements Program ((UN-Habitat)) in collaboration with the Egyptian government, the Ministry of Local Development, and the Ministry of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, during the period from 4 - 8 November 2024, at the Al Manara International Conference Center in Cairo.
