"Egyptian National Workshop" at AASTMT AbuKir Campus

In implementation of the Council of Arab Ministers of Transport’s decision - November 2022 session, the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT) organized the Egyptian National workshop’s activities, on Wednesday 12- 7- 2023, at AASTMT Campus in AbuKir, in cooperation with Suez Canal Authority and the Maritine Industries and Services Authority. 
H.E. Prof. Dr. Ismail Abdel Ghafar Ismail Farag - AASTMT President launched the workshop’s activities, within the framework of AASTMT’s assignment researching the establishment of a database and preparing a feasibility study for creating an Arab mechanism to support the field of ships in Arab countries. The workshop was held in the presence of senior officials from different working bodies in the ships field in Egypt, whether from the government or private sectors. In addition to, high-level delegations from the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States - Department of Transport and Tourism were present, as well as, H.E. Prof. Dr. Bahgat Abu Al-Nasr - Director of the Economic Integration Department at the League of Arab States, a group of AASTMT senior officials and many other parties involved in the study.
During the workshop’s activities, experts discussed the capabilities of the operating entities in Egypt concerned with the manufacture, construction and repair of ships, their competitiveness in the global market, the factors influencing ship-owners’ decisions and the challenges facing the ships field in Egypt.
