AASTMT participation in the Model Conference of the States Parties to the United Nations Convention against Corruption in Aswan

The activities of Model Conference of the States Parties to the United Nations Convention against Corruption (Model COSP) were launched, as the model was organized by the Administrative Control Authority of the Arab Republic of Egypt and the Economic Governance Project funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) in cooperation with the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT) and Aswan University.
The activities of the event were held on Wednesday 3- 5- 2023, in Aswan, under the auspices of H.E. Major General Ashraf Attia - Governor of Aswan, and in the presence of H.E. Prof. Dr. Ismail Abdel Ghafar Ismail Farag - AASTMT President, H.E. Mr. Jason Taylor - Director of the Office of Governance at USAID, H.E. Khaled Abdul Rahman - Deputy head of the Administrative Control Authority, H.E. Prof. Mohamed Abdel Aziz Muhalal - Vice President of Aswan University for Postgraduate Studies and Research Affairs, Prof. Dr. Atallah Hashad - Director of AASTMT Aswan campus, and representatives from the Administrative Control Authority, in addition to the participation of 150 students from AASTMT and Aswan University.
It is worth noting that the model comes within the framework of implementing the National Anti-Corruption Strategy 2023 - 2030 and aims at providing students with a learning opportunity regarding anti-corruption issues and their repercussions on Egypt and the world.
This year`s model is an extension of the close cooperation between the Economic Governance Project funded by USAID and the Administrative Control Authority, as the first version was implemented in 2021, and a model of the Climate conference simulation was implemented in 2022.
It should be noted that the Arab Republic of Egypt represented by the Administrative Control Authority has chaired the Conference of the States Parties (COSP) to the United Nations Convention against Corruption, since December 2021. Egypt will hand over the presidency of the conference to the United States of America next December.
