Launch of the Next Generation Ports - Practical Strategies for the Future Program in Cooperation with the Port of Antwerp-Bruges, Belgium
Professor Alaa Mahmoud Morsy, Dean of Port Training Institute and the Research and Consultation Center for the Maritime Transport Sector at the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT), inaugurated on, Sunday, 2 August 2026, the "Next Generation Ports – Practical Strategies for the Future" training program, which is being delivered online via live broadcast as part of the distinguished international cooperation between the Port Training Institute and the Port of Antwerp-Bruges, Belgium.
The program brings together a distinguished group of professionals and practitioners working in the fields of ports, maritime transport, logistics, and supply chain management, as well as individuals seeking to enhance their knowledge, develop their professional skills, and prepare for the evolving demands of the maritime labor market from Egypt, Libya, and Yemen.
The program is delivered by a distinguished team of experts and specialists from the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport and the Port of Antwerp-Bruges. It explores the latest global trends in port management and operations, digital transformation and innovation strategies, while showcasing international best practices and modern approaches to developing the ports of the future and enhancing their efficiency and sustainability.
The program also highlights the importance of international knowledge exchange and learning from the experience of one of Europe's largest and most advanced ports, contributing to the development of Arab professionals and strengthening their ability to keep pace with the rapid transformations taking place in the ports and maritime transport sector.
In his opening remarks, Professor Alaa Mahmoud Morsy emphasized the importance of international cooperation and the exchange of expertise with leading global institutions and ports. He reaffirmed the Port Training Institute's commitment to delivering specialized training programs that keep pace with the latest technological advancements and support the transition toward smarter, more efficient, and more sustainable ports.
