On 15 June 2026, Professor Alaa Mahmoud Morsy, Dean of Port Training Institute (PTI) and the Research and Consultanction Center for the Maritime Transport Sector at the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT), together with several members of the Institute's leadership team, welcomed a high-level delegation from Marsa Maroc, Kingdom of Morocco. The visit was held within the framework of strengthening bilateral cooperation, advancing specialized training programs, and reinforcing the long-standing strategic partnership between the two institutions in developing highly qualified professionals for the port sector.

The delegation included:
Eng. Said Sebaai – Director of the Support Division, Central Administration, Marsa Maroc.
Eng. Zouhair Seil – Director of Agadir Port.
Mr. Adel Ben Rass – Human Resources Director.

During the visit, the Institute presented its comprehensive portfolio of specialized training programs delivered for Marsa Maroc. These programs focus on qualifying crane operators for container terminals and general cargo terminals through an integrated training approach that combines theoretical instruction, simulator-based training using state-of-the-art equipment, and hands-on practical training on operational machinery, in line with the latest international standards in port operations.

The delegation also toured the Institute's training facilities, simulation laboratories, and technical workshops, and met with trainees currently enrolled in the programs. They highly commended the Institute's advanced training infrastructure, as well as the expertise of its academic and technical staff, recognizing PTI as one of the region's leading centers for maritime education and port equipment operator training.

As part of the ongoing collaboration, the Institute successfully delivered the Advanced General Cargo Crane Operators Training Program, in addition to preparing operational personnel designated to work at the West Med Container Terminal – Nador Port, one of Morocco's largest strategic port development projects, in preparation for its anticipated inauguration later this year.

On 24 June 2026, the training programs concluded with a graduation and recognition ceremony honoring the trainees for their outstanding performance and commitment throughout the program, marking another successful milestone in the fruitful partnership between the Port Training Institute and Marsa Maroc.

The Port Training Institute continues to play a leading role in developing and qualifying Arab human capital by transferring knowledge, building professional competencies, and supporting the sustainable development of the maritime transport and port sectors. Through these efforts, the Institute further reinforces AASTMT's position as a regional and international center of excellence in training, research, and consultancy.
