As part of the shared vision to strengthen Arab economic integration and promote the exchange of expertise among sister countries, the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT) signed a strategic cooperation agreement with **Qanwan Investment and Commercial Groups Management Company, under the supervision of the General Union of Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture of Libya. The agreement aims to establish a sustainable strategic partnership to provide training, technical, and consultancy services in accordance with the regulations and standards adopted by the Academy.
The agreement was signed by H.E. Prof. Ismail Abdel Ghaffar Ismail Farag, President of AASTMT, and Dr., Moftah Moustafa Abou Hagr General Manager of Qanwan Company, in the presence of H.E. Ambassador Tamer Hefny, Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Libya, along with a number of distinguished Libyan officials and leaders.
The signing ceremony was also attended by Mr. Wissam Al-Idrisi, Deputy Minister of Transport for Maritime Transport Affairs; Mr. Abdel Qader Al-Zarrouk, Deputy Minister of Technical and Vocational Education for Training Affairs; Mr. Saber Al-Azzabi, Deputy Minister of Marine Resources for Technical Affairs; Prof. Sandra Haddad, Dean of the College of International Transport and Logistics at the Alamein Branch; Prof.. Essam Khadr, Dean of Admissions and Registration at the Academy's Main Campus; Prof. Alaa Morsy, Dean of Port Training Institute and Research and Consultation Center for the Maritime Transport Sector at AASTMT; and Dr. Essam Moustafa, Business Development Manager at Port Training Institute.
Following the signing ceremony, Prof. Ismail Abdel Ghaffa emphasized that the agreement reflects the Academy’s ongoing commitment to supporting joint Arab cooperation and transferring advanced educational and training expertise to Arab countries. He explained that cooperation with Libyan economic and productive institutions aims to develop and qualify human resources in the fields of international transport, logistics, and ports, equipping them with the skills needed to keep pace with global transformations. This, in turn, will contribute positively to enhancing economic and developmental performance across the region
