On the sidelines of the International Conference MARLOG 15 – 2026, the 84th session of the Board of Directors of the Port Training Institute and the 65th session of the Board of Directors of the Maritime Transport Research and Consultation Center were held on Sunday, 8 February 2026, in cooperation with the Sudanese Sea Ports Authority.

The meeting was attended by H.E. Prof. Ismail Abdel Ghaffar Ismail Farag, President of the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT) and Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Port Training Institute and the Maritime Transport Research and Consultation Center; H.E. Eng. Gilani Mohamed Gilani, Director General of the Sudanese Sea Ports Authority; Prof. Alaa Mahmoud Morsy, Dean of Port Training Institute and the Maritime Research and Consultation Center at the Academy; in addition to a number of heads of responsibility centers.

Several joint matters were discussed with the aim of resuming cooperation and partnership in the fields of training and education.

During the meeting, the achievements of the Institute and the Center were reviewed, particularly in qualifying, training, and upgrading the competencies of human resources working in Egyptian, African, and Arab ports—especially the ports of the sisterly Republic of Sudan—in accordance with international quality standards. These efforts have had a significant impact on the development of human resources within the Sudanese Sea Ports Authority.

At the conclusion of the meeting, recommendations were signed to activate and resume training and consultancy activities during the upcoming period.
