Honoring the President of the International Shipping Alliance by H.E. the President of the Arab Academy

As part of the activities of the 15th edition of the International Maritime Transport and Logistics Conference “MARLOG 15,” currently being held in Alexandria under the theme *“Smart and Resilient Logistics Corridors: The Gateway to the Future of Global Green Trade,”* the event witnessed a distinguished honoring ceremony reflecting the depth of strategic partnerships in the maritime transport sector.

H.E. Prof. Ismail Abdel Ghaffar Ismail Farag, President of the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT), honored the President of the Global Shipping Think Tank Alliance (GSTTA), Prof. Alaa Mahmoud Morsy, Dean of Port Training Institute and Maritime Research and Consultation Center at the Academy. Prof. Morsy was recognized in appreciation of his pioneering role in promoting international cooperation and innovation in the field of maritime shipping, particularly following his appointment as President of the Alliance starting in 2025, making him the first Egyptian, Arab, and African to hold this position.

The Global Shipping Think Tank Alliance is a partner in organizing MARLOG 15, which brings together an elite group of Ministers of Transport and experts from 10 countries, including H.E. Eng. Kamel El-Wazir, Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development and Minister of Industry and Transport of Egypt, and H.E. Dr. Nidal Al-Qatamin, Minister of Transport of Jordan, under the patronage of H.E. Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary-General of the League of Arab States. The conference highlights digital transformation, sustainability, and supply chain resilience, further strengthening Egypt’s position as a regional hub for transport and logistics.

This honoring reflects the shared commitment to advancing the Arab and international maritime transport sector, in the presence of prominent industry leaders and members of the diplomatic corps. The Arab Academy, under the leadership of Prof. Ismail Abdel Ghaffar, continues its pioneering role as the technical arm of the League of Arab States in maritime education and training.
