As part of the efforts to enhance fruitful cooperation between Port Training Institute and the Egyptian Authority for Maritime Safety, Prof. Alaa Morsy, Dean of Port Training Institute and Research and Consultation Center for the Maritime Transport Sector at the Arab Academy for Science, Technology, and Maritime Transport, , paid a visit to the headquarters of the Egyptian Authority for Maritime Safety. He was accompanied by Mr. Ehab Hamdy, Assistant Dean for Financial and Administrative Affairs, and Dr. Essam Moustafa, Director of Business Development at the Institute.
They were received by Rear Admiral Dr. Ashraf Nabil Al-Assal, Chairman of the Egyptian Authority for Maritime Safety. During the visit, Prof. Dr. Alaa Morsi extended his congratulations to His Excellency on assuming the chairmanship of the Authority, wishing him continued success and the esteemed Authority further progress and prosperity.
As a gesture of appreciation, Prof. Dr. Alaa Morsy presented a commemorative gift to Rear Admiral Dr. Ashraf Nabil Al-Assal, expressing the Institute’s appreciation for the vital role the Authority plays in strengthening the maritime safety system in Egypt. The two sides also discussed avenues of joint cooperation in the fields of training, qualification, and human capacity development, in addition to exploring potential collaboration in research and consultancy related to the maritime transport sector.
For his part, Rear Admiral Dr. Ashraf Nabil Al-Assal praised the pivotal role of the Port Training Institute in training and qualifying maritime personnel, stressing the importance of ongoing cooperation between the Authority and the Institute in supporting and enhancing the professional capabilities of those working in the maritime transport sector, thereby contributing to strengthening maritime safety and improving the level of services provided within the national maritime domain.
This visit reaffirms the strategic partnership between the Institute and the Authority, and the commitment of both sides to continue working together toward the development of the maritime safety and maritime transport system in Egypt
