In the framework of supporting international cooperation and strengthening relations between Port Training Institute of the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport and the People’s Republic of China, and based on the auspices of H.E. Prof. Dr. Ismail Abdel Ghaffar Ismail Farag, President of the Academy, to enhance international partnerships and expand the scope of academic and training cooperation globally, Prof. Alaa Mahmoud Morsy, Dean of Port Training Institute and Maritime Research and Consultation Center at the Academy, along with several heads of responsibility centers at the Institute, received on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, a high-level delegation from the Beijing Youth League School.
The delegation included a number of prominent Chinese leaders, with the presence of H.E. Consul Yang Yi, Consul General of the People’s Republic of China in Alexandria. The delegation was headed by Mr. Yang Bin, Vice President of the Beijing Youth League School. The visit aimed to explore areas of mutual cooperation in training and human development, and to activate programs for the exchange of knowledge and expertise in the maritime transport sector.
During the visit, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between Port Training Institute and the Beijing Youth League School, including the launch of joint training programs and specialized educational activities targeting the development of young talents in the fields of ports and logistics services.
The visit also featured a tour of the Institute’s facilities, where the delegation was introduced to the simulation complex, technical laboratories, and the engineering workshops complex. They also attended a presentation by the Dean of the Institute on the modern capabilities and international partnerships of the Institute, as well as its pioneering role in supporting the maritime transport industry regionally and internationally.
The delegation expressed their great admiration for the Institute’s advanced training capabilities, praising its innovative programs that keep pace with the latest global trends in ports and maritime transport. They affirmed that this visit marks a strong starting point for a future strategic partnership.
