Port Training Institute Welcomes High-Level Delegation from the Kuwait Ports Authority

As part of strengthening bilateral relations between the Port Training Institute and the Kuwait Ports Authority, and with the aim of consolidating ongoing cooperation between both sides, Prof.  Alaa Mahmoud Morsy, Dean of Port Training Institute and Research and Consultation Center, received on Tuesday, 16 September 2025, a high-level delegation from the Kuwait Ports Authority.

The delegation was headed by Eng. Fahad Rashid Fahad Al-Bous, Acting Assistant Director General for Planning Affairs and Shuwaikh Port, and included Eng. Abdulaziz Fahad Falih Al-Hajri, Head of the Marine Pollution Control Equipment Maintenance Department, and Ms. Noor Abdulrahman Abdullah Al-Majed, Senior Administrative Development Researcher.

 

The delegation was welcomed by several heads of responsibility centers at the Institute: Mr. Ehab Hamdy*, Assistant Dean for Financial and Administrative Affairs; Dr. Essam Mostafa, Manager of Business Development; Eng. Hisham Hamdy, Head of Crane Simulators Department; Mr. Ahmed Shari, Head of Public Relations; and Eng. Amr Ramadan, Head of Engineering Programs.

The meeting began with a comprehensive presentation delivered by Prof. Dr. Alaa Morsy, showcasing the Institute’s and the Center’s capabilities and diverse services at the local, regional, and international levels, as well as their pivotal role in enriching the ports and maritime transport sector through advanced training and consultancy programs that keep pace with the latest global trends.

Both sides discussed avenues of cooperation in training and knowledge exchange, contributing to the enhancement of human resource efficiency and the development of technical and training performance in the maritime transport industry.

The Kuwait Ports Authority delegation expressed admiration for the modern facilities and advanced training technologies they observed, praising the Institute’s role in qualifying maritime human resources to the highest standards of quality.

Field Visit to Alexandria Port

Following the meeting, the delegation paid a field visit to Alexandria Port, where they were received by Rear Admiral Ihab Mohamed Salah, Chairman of the Alexandria Port Authority, along with several senior officials. Discussions covered prospects for mutual cooperation, followed by a tour of the port facilities, during which the delegation commended the development and expansion they witnessed.

Visit to TransMisr Terminals (TMT)

The visit concluded with a tour of TransMisr Terminals, where the delegation was welcomed by Rear Admiral Mahmoud Khodair, Chairman of the Board of TransMisr Terminals, who gave a presentation on the company’s activities. The Kuwaiti delegation expressed appreciation for the significant developments achieved at the terminal.

This visit comes within the Institute’s strategy to build strong relations and partnerships with Arab ports, reflecting its commitment to enhancing cooperation with international maritime institutions, thereby contributing to raising the efficiency of the maritime transport sector.
