H.E. Professor Dr. Ismail Abdel Ghaffar Ismail Farag, President of the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport, Opens International Workshop in Tripoli
On the morning of Monday, July 21, 2025, the international workshop entitled “Strategic Vision for the Development of Libyan Ports According to International Standards” was launched. The workshop was organized by the Ports and Maritime Transport Authority in Libya, in cooperation with the Port Training Institute and the Maritime Transport Research and Consultation Center at the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport, under the patronage of H.E. Mr. Mohamed Salem Al-Shahoubi, Minister of Transport in Libya. The event was held at the Radisson Blu Hotel – Tripoli.
This comes within the framework of the Academy’s role as the leading Arab center of expertise in developing the maritime transport sector, capacity building, and enhancing regional integration in the field of ports, based on more than five decades of academic and professional experience in training personnel and supporting maritime strategies according to international standards.
The workshop was inaugurated by H.E. Professor Dr. Ismail Abdel Ghaffar Ismail Farag, President of the Academy, who emphasized in his speech the importance of developing the infrastructure of Libyan ports and the need to align them with international standards.
The opening session featured speeches from:

???? Prof. Dr. Alaa Morsy – Dean of Port Training Institute and Maritime Research and Consultation Center

???? The first session was titled: “International Compliance in Ports – A Roadmap for Security, Safety, and Environmental Protection”
It was chaired by Prof. Dr. Alaa Mahmoud Morsy and featured contributions from:
