On the evening of Monday, July 21, 2025, the General Union of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, and Agriculture in Libya welcomed a high-level delegation from the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport, headed by H.E. Prof. Dr. Ismail Abdel Ghaffar Ismail Farag, President of the Academy, accompanied by H.E. Ambassador Tamer Hefny, Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Libya, at the Union headquarters in the capital, Tripoli.

The delegation was received by:

???? Dr. Samir Al-Turmal – Director General of the Union

In attendance:

???? Deputy Minister of Economy for Free Zones Affairs

???? Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Zliten
???? A number of directors of relevant departments in the Union

The Academy's delegation included:

Prof. Dr. Alaa Mahmoud Morsy – Dean of Port Training Institute and the Maritime

Research and Consultation Center

Dr. Essam Mostafa – Director of Business Development at Port Training Institute at the Academy

The meeting discussed prospects for joint cooperation in the fields of maritime and logistics training, human capacity building, and the economic empowerment of youth and women through specialized training programs that prepare them for integration into the labor market.

Both sides also discussed the importance of encouraging Egyptian businessmen to visit Libya and explore promising investment opportunities, particularly in the sectors of trade, industry, and agriculture.

A proposal was also presented to organize a joint economic conference under the supervision of the General Union, in partnership with the Libya Trade Network and the Arab Academy, to serve as a strategic platform for strengthening public-private sector partnerships in both countries.

This visit comes within the framework of strengthening Libyan-Egyptian relations and activating the role of specialized Arab institutions in supporting sustainable economic development in Libya and the region.
