Within the achievements of the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT) and the prosperity of its educational process, H.E Prof. Dr. Ismail Abdel Ghafar Ismail Farag - AASTMT President thanks and appreciates Prof. Dr. Nahla Belal - AASTMT Smart Village College of Computing and Information Technology Deputy, on the appreciation of the Board of Directors of the Computing Accreditation Committee of the American Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology “ABET” for her significant contribution to ABET organization and to technical education worldwide.It’s worth to mention that Prof. Dr. Nahla Belal is a program evaluator for ABET, the global accreditor of college and university programs in applied and natural science, computing, engineering, and engineering technology, as the role of ABET program evaluator is to assist ABET in reviewing more than 4,100 programs at over 810 institutions in 32 countries worldwide. Also ABET Experts “program evaluators” and team chairs are truly at the “front line” of ABET work, ensuring a quality educational experience for so many students, where an ABET Expert is a highly selective process requiring specialized skills, as ABET program evaluators are leaders in their fields, have diverse backgrounds and experiences, and must demonstrate high-level competencies, such as technical currency, effective communication, and interpersonal skills, also Prof. Dr. Nahla Belal participates in regular training to ensure the knowledge of accreditation criteria, processes, and procedures are up to the latest ABET standards. In addition, all ABET Experts undergo a 360-degree performance appraisal after every assignment, to ensure they are continuing to improve their own skills and competencies.
