ESCWA "Transport and Logistics Committee" - Session 21

The Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT) participated in the meeting of the Committee on Transport and Logistics (Session 21) of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) that was held on Tuesday 8- 12- 2020, through the online platform (zoom application), as during the meeting, they discussed a number of issues concerning the role of technology and innovation in developing the land transport sector in the Arab region, the most important challenges facing technological applications, the effects of Covid-19 pandemic on transport sector, and the most prominent success stories related to the use of technology to mitigate the effects of the pandemic in the field of transport in Arab countries.
It’s worth to mention that H.E Prof. Dr. Ismail AbdelGhafar Ismail Farag - AASTMT President has reviewed AASTMT leading experience in the field of technology and innovation, as well as the establishment of AASTMT College of Artificial Intelligence in the new city of El Alamein, then Dr. Moustafa Rashid – AASTMT Presidents` Assistant for Arab Affairs presented AASTMT leading role in cooperation with the International Road Transport Union (IRU) in training cadres in the field of road transport in the Arab countries.
