AASTMT had hosted ROV or Remotely Operated Vehicle Competition during April 19 - 22, 2012 which is organized by AASTMT Regional Informatics Center and Hadath Company for innovation under the supervision of the Marine Advanced Technology Education (MATE) and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA).This competition aims at providing an opportunity for students to compete in the field of designing and manufacturing of robot diver technology which works under water where ROV, or Remotely Operated Vehicle is a tethered underwater robot used for many purposes across many industries that operate underwater. ROVs can perform many specialized tasks in industries such as oil and gas, commercial shipping, salvage, ship husbandry, potable water, ocean engineering, video production, scientific research and others.Several universities from different developed countries has participate in this contest, as for this year's competition which is the first in the Middle East as the only that takes place in the Arab world and the African continent, where the winner at the regional competition will be qualified to participate in the international competition that will be held in Orlando, Florida, during June 21 - 23, 2012.
