Professor Amira R. Khattab is Professor of Natural Product Chemistry at the College of Pharmacy, Arab Academy for Science, Technology & Maritime Transport (AASTMT), Abu Qir, Alexandria, Egypt. She graduated from the Faculty of Pharmacy, Alexandria University in 2005, ranking 13th in her class, and obtained her MSc in Natural Product Chemistry from Alexandria University in 2011, followed by her PhD in Natural Product Chemistry from Tanta University in 2015. She is currently serving as Associate Dean for Medical Programs, Graduate School in Alamein, Arab Academy for Science, AASTMT, El Alamein. She is also a founding member in Federation of Arab Women Leaders, member in Education & Scientific Research Committee, League of Arab States. She has consistently sought to integrate innovative teaching methodologies into her work with pharmacy students. Her pedagogical approach leverages technology, including Artificial Intelligence (AI), to enhance problem-solving skills and prepare students for real-world applications. Her commitment to excellence is further evidenced by her receipt of the Academic Creativity Award in 2022 from the Creators Union of Arab, League of Arab States. Professor Khattab's expertise in natural product chemistry is complemented by her leadership roles in the Federation of Arab Women Leaders, League of Arab States as being a founding member in the Education & Scientific Research Committee (since 2018). Specializing in the field of plant metabolomics and applications of machine learning in establishing smart models for chemical profiling, fingerprinting, authentication and analysis of phytopharmaceuticals and functional foods, Dr. Khattab has co-authored 50 articles published in prestigious journals with Impact Factor (IF) up to 18.4. She teaches “Medical Nutrition” to the students of Hospital Logistics Management Professional Master at the Institute of logistics and International Transport, Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport, Alexandria, Egypt. Her international engagement includes participation in the International Staff Week (University of Valladolid, Spain, May 2017) under the Erasmus+ KA107 program, and the Academy on Green Jobs Promotion in the MENA Region, organized by the International Labour Organization (ILO) in collaboration with the Arab Institute for Leadership Development at AASTMT.
