Mona Ibrahim Abd el Nabi Kaamoush

biography

• Dr. Mona I.A. Kaamoush is an instructor and researcher in the field of environmental science, specializing in marine pollution and environmental protection. Born on July 3, 1977, in Alexandria, Egypt, she has dedicated over two decades to academia and research. • Dr. Kaamoush currently serves in the Environmental Protection and Crises Management Department at the Arab Academy for Science, Technology & Maritime Transport (AAST) since 2017. She teaches a variety of courses, including IMO (levels 1, 2 &3) courses, waste management, and research methodology. Her extensive teaching experience also includes part-time roles in chemistry and microbiology at AAST (2000-2020). • She holds a Ph.D. in Metabolic Response of Marine Algae to Toxicity from the Antifouling Agent Irgarol 1051 on marine ecosystem, as well as a Master’s degree in Biological Treatment of Wastewater. Her academic journey began with a graduation in Chemistry and Microbiology from Alexandria University, Egypt. • Dr. Kaamoush's research interests encompass marine and environmental studies, focusing on marine fouling, anti-fouling agents, and ecological monitoring.
