Dr. Mohamed Mahmoud Abdelfattah Hafez is a maritime security expert. He is currently Vice Dean of Regional Maritime Security Institute (RMSI), AASTMT. Also, he lectures security courses approved by the International Maritime Organization, in addition to participating in the team assessing ships/ ports and port facilities in Egypt and developing their security plans in addition to Participating in the team Assessing Ports and Port Facilities in Saudi Arabia and developing their Security Plans (2010 – 2011 – 2014 - 2015). Also he is a Member of the Main Committee for Maritime Security in the Arab Republic of Egypt . The League of Arab States has also delegated him to attend the meetings of the IMO Safety Committee and participate in the working group related to maritime security more than once. He has previously worked as a Naval officer in Egyptian Naval Forces. Dr. Abdelfattah holds a PhD of Maritime Transport Technology in Maritime Safety, Security and Environmental Protection from AASTMT. He earned his M.Sc. in Maritime Transport Technology, Management of Fleet Operation and Marine Safety from AASTMT and his B.Sc. degree in Naval Science, from Egyptian Naval College. In addition, Dr. Abdelfattah has earned his Master Mariner (Certificate of Competency). Dr. Abdelfattah has participated in a number of academic activities, seminars, workshops, and has published research papers in various national and international conferences and journals.
