Im professor of Computer Science since 2006. I was also the Dean of the College of computing and Information Technology, Arab Academy for Science and Technology and Maritime Transport, AASTMT. I have over thirty years of research and teaching experience for the undergraduate and postgraduate students. I supervised tens of undergraduate projects and tens of master and Ph.D. theses. I was assigned as an external examiner for a number of theses in computer science and information systems for many Universities. I'm a member of technical committees for a number of national and international conferences and journals. My area of interest includes pattern recognition and image analysis, data mining, intelligent systems, and software engineering. I have tens of publications in theses areas. I was appointed as a research assistant, RA, since graduation in 1986 in the coastal research institute, Egypt. When I got my M.Sc. in 1990, I assigned as a researcher. From Sept. 1991 to Aug. 1999, I worked as a lecturer at the college of computer and information sciences, King Saud University, Saudi Arabia. During this period I studied and got a Ph.D. degree from Cairo University in 1996. In 1999, I was appointed as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Engineering, AASTMT. In 2003, I Moved to the college of Computing and information technology as vice dean for academics and students affairs when it was established. Im a full time employed in the AASTMT and my time is organized as 20% and 10% for teaching undergraduate and postgraduate respectively, 30% for research and supervising postgraduate students and 40% for college administration. I'm a constantly session chairman in the International Conference for Computer Technology and Applications (ICCTA). I was also a session chairman in some of International Arab Conference on Information Technology (ACIT).
