Dr. Tarek Z. Elabbady is a seasoned executive with over 25 years in the high-tech industry, specializing in artificial intelligence. He holds a Master's and Doctorate in Computer Engineering from Purdue University and an MBA from the University of Washington. His career began at Medtronic, where he contributed to the development of the first Automatic External Defibrillator (AED), earning numerous patents and publications. He then joined Microsoft, leading engineering teams in the Windows Division and later spearheading Advanced Technology Labs in Europe, the Middle East, and South America. His expertise includes natural language processing, IoT, computer vision, and AI.

In 2023, Dr. Elabbady became Director General at the Islamic Development Bank in Saudi Arabia, focusing on multilateral development and its impact on underserved populations. He has since returned to Seattle due to familial commitments and now serves as a consultant and board advisor.
