Dr. Ahmed N. Tantawy is a distinguished educator, engineer, inventor, and former senior business executive with a passion for innovation ecosystems and social business initiatives. He has served as an expert advisor to multinational corporations, the World Bank, the UN, and various government agencies. Currently, he is a senior advisor to the Egyptian Minister of Communications and IT and Founding Director of the Applied Innovation Center, where national challenges are addressed using emerging technologies. He also sits on the boards of national-scale initiatives, Telecom Egypt’s Data Services company, and not-for-profit organizations focused on education and social development.

Dr. Tantawy held key positions at IBM Corporation, including Chief Technical Officer for Growth Markets and leader of global research programs. His pioneering work introduced secure digital content distribution and advanced security mechanisms for public safety and business applications. With over 34 inventions, four books, and more than 100 refereed papers, he has made significant scientific contributions. He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Engineering from Grenoble, France, and completed executive education programs at Harvard, MIT, and IBM.
