Dr. Aly Fahmy is a distinguished professor of Artificial Intelligence at the Arab Academy for Science, Technology, and Maritime Transport and the Faculty of Computers and Artificial Intelligence at Cairo University. His expertise spans diverse areas, including Data and Text Mining, Machine Learning, Logic Programming, Fuzzy Logic, Computational Linguistics, and the integration of Neural Networks with Symbolic Logic. His current research focuses on Large Language Models (LLMs) and their applications in education and conversational systems, alongside projects exploring Agentic AI, breast lesion detection using convolutional neural networks, and advancements in mispronunciation detection and question-generation systems.

Dr. Fahmy holds a Ph.D. in Artificial Intelligence from the Centre of Research and Studies in Toulouse, France, where he specialized in the Control of Automatic Deductions for Logic-Based Systems. He earned his MSc from the same institution and his undergraduate degree from the Military Technical College in Cairo, Egypt. His professional experience includes developing large-scale real-time software systems at Litton Data System in Los Angeles and contributing to expert systems at IntelliCorp in Munich, Germany. Beyond academia, he has led numerous applied research initiatives, including the Theses Mining Project at Cairo University and the establishment of the Arabic Language Technology Center (ALTEC).
