Industry Service Complex Showcases Cutting-Edge Industrial Innovations at the Arab Academy Industry Advisory Council Exhibition

The Industry Service Complex at the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT) participated in the exhibition accompanying the 8th Industry Advisory Council, held on Thursday, June 25, 2026, under the theme "Professionalism in the Age of Artificial Intelligence." The event brought together more than 120 companies, governmental entities, and industrial organizations, reinforcing collaboration between academia and industry while promoting innovation and technology transfer to support sustainable industrial development.

At its exhibition booth, the Industry Service Complex showcased a selection of advanced technologies and innovative solutions developed by its Research and Development Department, highlighting the Complex's capabilities in applied research, engineering innovation, and the development of locally manufactured industrial technologies.

Among the featured innovations was the Automated Pharmaceutical Blister De-Packaging and Waste Recycling System, a pioneering solution entirely designed and manufactured by the Research and Development Department. The project is funded by the Science, Technology and Innovation Funding Authority (STDF) under Project No. 47293, with the Industry Service Complex serving as both the lead implementing organization and principal investigator.

The project is carried out in collaboration with the Research and Innovation Center, the Faculty of Pharmacy – El Alamein Branch, the Faculty of Engineering – Abu Qir Branch, and the Faculty of Pharmacy at Pharos University. It aims to develop Egypt's first fully integrated automated system capable of removing pharmaceutical tablets from blister packs while separating aluminum and plastic components for environmentally friendly recycling. The system contributes to reducing pharmaceutical waste, lowering disposal costs, promoting environmental sustainability, and supporting the localization of advanced manufacturing technologies.

The Complex also presented the AIR3D7070F Industrial 3D Printer, a fully locally developed machine designed and manufactured by the Research and Development Department as part of the AIR Series for digital manufacturing. With a generous 70 × 70 × 70 cm build volume, the printer is engineered to produce large-scale engineering prototypes and industrial components, supporting rapid prototyping and advanced manufacturing applications while demonstrating the Complex's expertise in developing high-performance, Egyptian-made digital manufacturing solutions.

The participation reflects the Industry Service Complex's ongoing commitment to advancing applied scientific research and transforming innovative ideas into practical industrial technologies. It also underscores the Arab Academy's role in strengthening partnerships with the industrial sector, supporting technology localization, promoting domestic manufacturing, and contributing to Egypt's sustainable development goals.
